December 10       Christmas – The Real Meaning Tom Lajiness

I grew up with four brothers.  As you can imagine things were always hectic around our house.

During Christmas things became even worse with anticipation of presents, food, and all the family events.  So Mom and Dad would send us off to the movies the day before to settle us down, it never worked.

As I look back on these warm fond memories, I realized something was missing.  I knew the story of Christmas and the birth of Jesus, but it never really registered.

After attending KCC for some time, I finally started to realize what the birth of our Savior was all about.  Matthew 1:21 ‘she will give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sin.’

What helps me to remember this, are fond memories of the Christmas choir which I was privileged to be part of for several Christmas concerts.   Though I’m not much of a singer, it makes me realize just how wonderful God’s gift of Jesus truly is.

John 1:14 ‘The Lord became flesh and made His dwelling among us.  We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only, who came from the father, full of grace and truth.’
