O Come, All Ye Faithful (Joyce Haase)–with video

“O Come All Ye Faithful”

One of my favorite carols is O Come All Ye Faithful.

I love to sing Christmas Carols and poor Mike gets tired of them quickly probably because of my singing, but I love them.  When I really think about the words in just the first two lines, they serve as a call for all who believe in the Christ, to come to Him, worship Him and follow Him with joy and triumph.

The word ‘come’ commands action.  He wants us to continually come to Him with every aspect of our lives.  He wants us to come to Him with changes we are making to be more like Him – a living sacrifice.

Mark 8:34 says “If any of you want to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me”.

As we enjoy this wonderful Christmas Season, and sing along to all the beautiful carols, I ask that we all stop and recognize whether or not we actually ‘come to Him’.  Are we truly believing in Him, worshipping Him, and following Him.

 O Come All Ye Faithful (Lyrics)

O Come All Ye Faithful
Joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem.
Come and behold Him,
Born the King of Angels;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.

O Sing, choirs of angels,
Sing in exultation,
Sing all that hear in heaven God’s holy word.
Give to our Father glory in the Highest;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.

All Hail! Lord, we greet Thee,
Born this happy morning,
O Jesus! for evermore be Thy name adored.
Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.
